Founded in 2008 to serve people who have had spinal cord injuries (SCI) & related disease facing the challenge of living in a bi-state area, the Greater Kansas City Spinal Cord Injury Association’s goal is to unite the Kansas City area to provide a centralized organization that can offer information and direction to meet that individual’s, family’s or professional’s needs.

In order to address our mission, we provide resources and education to those with SCI: serve as principal sponsor or the Midwest Ability Summit, allow attendees access to education, information from local resources, interact with speakers and area providers. We provide transportation for individuals to our event; award grants for those in the SCI Community in need; donations/scholarships to local wheelchair rugby and basketball teams; sponsor individuals to attend Roll on Capitol Hill and the Annual United Spinal Leadership Meeting. As a volunteer based 501c3 organization, our annual golf tournament is designed to help raise funds to achieve these goals and more.
